About Me
Elizabeth Smith, CD(DONA)
I am the owner and operator of Birth Angel Doula Services, LLC. I hold a bachelors degree in early childhood education, and have worked with infants and their families for many years. I started my doula service in 2006 after a friend suggested that I be present for the birth of her son as her doula. After much research about what a doula is and what one does, I joined my friend for her son’s birth. It was amazing! I decided afterwards that I’d become a certified doula and haven’t looked back. I received my training through DONA International and have had the pleasure of attending many beautiful births since. In the past, I’ve nurtured infants and their families in a childcare setting, and thought it was a natural transition to be present during the birthing process to nurture both mother and baby. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 5 years (together 13 years) and am the mother of two beautiful girls and an angel baby boy.
I provide birth assistance free of charge for those families who have experienced early or late term miscarriage, death of their unborn or born infant, or another devastating diagnosis during their pregnancy. This service is supported by financial donations from my clients.
